There was a big bonus for CMK shoppers this week with the opening of the new multi-storey car park behind John Lewis.
The bonus is that the car park has been free of charge all week, while the smart-tech systems are calibrated.
The new car park has over 1,400 spaces, including 82 disabled, 64 parent and child, and 12 for electric vehicles. The parent and child spaces look to be especially spacious, which is great if you have a buggy and lots of shopping to sort out.
The charge for parking will be £1 for the first two hours and £1 an hour thereafter. There is ANPR at the entrance and high tech monitoring equipment throughout the car park, so this should be a safe and secure place to park.
There are two covered walkways into the CMK shopping building so if it is raining you will be able to go shopping without getting wet. There is going to be a carry-to-car service run in conjunction with centre:mk guest services. Exact details of how this will work have yet to be confirmed.
So make the most of the free parking while it lasts and keep your eye on Twitter @centremk to see when charges are going to start.
