Do you regularly travel to/from one of Hertford North, Welwyn Garden City, Luton Airport Parkway, Epsom, Harpenden, St Albans, Radlett, Hatfield, Welham Green, Brookmans Park or Potters Bar? If your answer is yes, then rejoice! Oyster is coming.

After plenty of political pressure behind the scenes, both Oyster Card and Contactless will be in place at all of the above stations by early 2019. That means no more getting caught out with a surprise fine if you tapped in somewhere in London, without realising you couldn’t tap out at the other end of your journey.

Shashi Verma, Chief Technology Officer at Transport for London said:

Pay as you go with contactless and Oyster has helped revolutionise travel on Tube, rail and bus services across London, making them more convenient for all. We are delighted that, working with the DfT, South Western Railway and GTR, we will be expanding Oyster and contactless to cover services to Epsom and Hertford North from early 2019 and welcome the wider consultation into extending pay as you go across the rail network that surrounds London.
